Reflections

Today is April 17. The day Cambodia went into year 0. I always reflect on this day. Millions were murdered. They died from extreme starvation and torture by the hands of the Khmer Rouge. I have been privleged to hear many first hand accounts from classmates and friends. I was also able to meet in person, Vann Nath, one of the 7 survivors of the S21 Prison. He was able to survive by means of his art work.

I never ever feel that I am better than anyone.
Nor am I conceited in any way.
It kinda hurts when some have had that view of me.
But...hey...life goes on.
I merely appreciate all I have, and am constantly pushing myself to look on the bright side.
I have the tendency to be negative and depressed.
I fight it.

I am a work in progress.
So much to learn.
I never claim perfection.
But I do stand up to what I believe is true.
Not always easy.
I sometimes feel like an outcast from all areas of life
And all groups.
I've never fit in totally anywhere.
I wouldn't believe in organized religion if I were not totally convinced as a Jehovah's witness. This is not "just like the rest".
Love to all.

People rejoice when u are broken. Down and out.
Ugly. Unwanted. Beat. Unloved.
"How can I help you?" They say.
Its when we look like we have it all together and need nothing they turn their backs on us, kick us in the butt and spit in our faces.
Like maya angelou said "still...I rise"

The Boston news is so depressing..I know there were SO many heros and people who came together, and I am touched by that. I also know that God's promise of a new system of things is REAL and will happen....but it's still so sad to see so many injured and hurting, and to know that NOTHING is safe in this system. At any moment we are insecure.

Pray for endurance.
Life ain't no joke.

And yet...I have SOOO much to learn...

Life has been a learning process. I have learned the most...NOT from an institution or book...but from PEOPLE and the stories they have shared with me. I am BLESSED to have heard so many life stories. I treasure all of them and I dont forget what people have told me..To me, that's REAL education. ( I am not talking about the bible of course..I am speaking on a secular level)
^ Depends on situation..but very true in most instances. the other extreme situations we leave to God.
